Move over MATRIX the sci-fi movie INCEPTION has just begun to enter your dreams

Not since the Exorcist have I been so blow away by a mind dazzling movie like INCEPTION

What does inception mean? Webster says it means “An event that is a beginning; a first part or stage of subsequent events,” which may or may not signal that this could be a new movie franchise like other blockbuster movies. Although we know what inception means, every time some says the word we may have new thoughts.

INCEPTION is now a thriller movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio, but early on, it was the process of using psychology to find out your inner being while you sleep, sort of entering your dreams to take out information. So they can get you to tell them things later on. WOW, enough to give you goose bumps, huh? It works, and kind of scary for teenagers.

Leonardo DiCaprio plays Cobb who has the job of subconsciously putting an idea in the mind of a businessman. In order to do this he first assembles a team of “dream hackers” who all link themselves in sleep to perform the task. Are you still with me? Yea, I was scratching my head, too.

The impressive star-studded lineup in  INCEPTION includes: Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Berenger, Cillian Murphy, Michael Caine, Ellen Page, Marion Cottiliard and many more.

Leonardo DiCaprio is much like Shutter Island - the big star of the film. His innocence from the days of the Titanic disappeared, and a powerful dramatic actor really shines in this movie, which you really need to see twice to understand. DiCaprio is a risk taker on and off screen according to Rolling Stone's cover story this week, but that’s what makes him stand out. I still have fond memories from his powerful role in Blood Diamond.

Although this movie is hard to fathom, it’s similar to many flicks we have experience that have been a tiny bit challenging to describe. It reminds me of Donnie Darko, Clockwork Orange or even the Matrix, which at some point have dreaming and flipping from dreams to reality which really causes the confusion, but also creates the thriller effect. In other words, like my buddies who went with me to the movie said, a dream inside a dream, inside a dream. How often have you dreamed that you are falling from a cliff or building, and you wake up in a sweat right before you hit the ground or die?

Christopher Nolan directs INCEPTION and if the name Nolan sounds familiar think The Dark Knight, which was also one of my favorites. Nolan is a king of special effects which he employs artfully in this movie. The most amazing part is the zero gravity and how what you see is suddenly upside down, like you might be on drugs or hallucinating. Ask yourself the question at the end of the movie, are they still in a dream or is it reality. See if you are paying attention. Post your answer below in the comment section please. I will explain why they end the movie the way they did later.Inception is what dreams are made of excitement, thrills and chills. Hang on this one will really take you on a roller coaster ride.

Best advice eat your popcorn and drink you soda before the movie starts, and don’t go alone to this one. Thumbs up on this one X2 = A+.

Hollywood jobs look rosy for 2010-2011 Says New Forecast by LAEDC

Jack Kyser, LAEDC presents Mid Year Forecast

LAEDC Mid-year Forecast Shows Improving Economic
Picture and Job Growth in 2011

                                       ***

Los Angeles
County
’s entertainment, tourism and international trade sectors will lead a “measured recovery,” but housing remains an issue

Los Angeles In a new report released today, the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC) projects the U.S. economy will grow by 3.1 percent in 2010 and by 2.9 percent in 2011 after contracting by 2.4 percent in 2009. The report also shows that employment will grow through year end 2010, and the nation’s unemployment rate will decline slowly, reaching the nine percent range by the end of 2011.

According to the2010-2011 Economic Forecast and Industry Outlook: Mid-Year Update” report produced by the LAEDC’s Kyser Center for Economic Research, California’s recovery will be led by tourism, international trade, technology, and television and film production.
Dr. Nancy Sidhu, LAEDC

“We are seeing a measured recovery under way,” said the Kyser Center’s Chief Economist and report co-author, Dr. Nancy Sidhu. “Automotive and housing-related purchases and business investment in equipment will contribute to the recovery as well, but consumer spending holds one of the keys to the overall economic outlook.”

Tourism will see an increase in 2010 and 2011, as more people visit the region and stay in hotels in the area. The outlook for the Los Angeles region’s large tourist industry is improving, albeit slowly. Most local theme parks, such as Universal Studios Hollywood, Knott’s Berry Farm and Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventures, have new attractions opening this year or plans for major park improvements. With the opening of the new hotels at L.A. Live, the City of Los Angeles has booked several major business shows. In Los Angeles County, the hotel occupancy rate is about 69.7 percent compared with 65.5 percent in 2009.
The region’s famed motion picture/television production industry got off to a good start this year as well. Domestic box office receipts were up strongly over the year, the state film production incentive plan was well received, and television networks, both broadcast and cable, produced a number of pilots and series. Jobs in the entertainment industry started to rebound at the end of 2009, and for 2010, an increase of 16,900 jobs is estimated in the motion picture and sound recording sector in Los Angeles County..  For full story visit: http://bit.ly/9p622a

Angelina Jolie Stars in Contemporary Thriller - SALT - Film imitating Life

Angelina Jolie stars in Salt, a contemporary action thriller from Columbia Pictures.
As a CIA officer, Evelyn Salt (Jolie) swore an oath to duty, honor and country. Her loyalty will be tested when a defector accuses her of being a Russian spy. Salt goes on the run, using all her skills and years of experience as a covert operative to elude capture. Salt's efforts to prove her innocence only serve to cast doubt on her motives, as the hunt to uncover the truth behind her identity continues and the question remains: "Who Is Salt?"
Visit http://www.WhoIsSalt.com/

This movie is very timely, due to the fact that  the  SALT trailer became available about the  time that  the Spy Ring was broken up.
The media says it was  beauty that brought  down the Russian spy ring.
A nervous Anna Chapman's phone call to her  father in Moscow lit a fire under federal  investigators, and sparked the arrests of her  and her fellow secret agents, the Washington  Post reports.
Federal officials were starting to round up the  suspected spies in early June, and were  monitoring the movements of several  members of the elaborate ring, when the alarming phone call occurred.
According to the report, Chapman became suspicious after a meeting with an FBI informant, who misled her as to who he was and then asked her to perform a task that was more elaborate than her usual missions.

This movie should play big in Russia in the   worldwide release. Here's the global showings

Michael Lohan - Linsay Lohan's Dad Drops the "F" Bomb Live on Fox News (ouch) And Mel Gibson's battle with former love - Oksana Grigorieva - heats up

Just when we thought we had heard it all on Television, along comes a family of celebs that may have cross the lined in describe the thoughts verbally and visually.

First Lindsay Lohan gets grilled in court, cries when she hears a mandatory 90 days in jail for breaking probation not once, but twice. And as the TV news anchors would say.. NOW THIS...

After Lindsay Lohan is caught with F--K U vividly painted on her fingernails and labeled the judge who threw the book at her a "F------G  King Bitch", her Pops popped a real eye opener live on Fox News.

The live interview was not blipped on "Studio B" with Fox TV News Anchor Shepard smith when Michael Lohan blurted out "F- -K" live on the air when Smith had asked him why he was going on television and partying the same night his daughter had been sent to the slammer for three months.

"I don't think a lot of parents understand the way you conduct yourself," Smith said. Referring to pictures of Lohan smiling at a restaurant, he said, "I think a lot of [people] are probably saying, you know, if you'd done half this much to try to help your daughter..."Seconds later Daddy Lohan let loose on the family network news channel, but apologized afterthe F bomb slipped through the censors at Fox.

WAIT THERE'S MORE- MEL GIBSON -
MR. EDGE OF DARKNESS HIMSELF

(((Warning: Do not play the audio on Radar.com
with kids in the room please)))

(courtesy contactmusic.com)
Meantime, another celebrity  -  Mr. Lethal Weapon, who's no stranger to Hollywood's gossip columns is in hot water again. Mel Gibson has learned from  agent William Morris Endeavor Entertainment they are dropping him this week due to allegations that he assaulted and made death threats against his ex-girlfriend.Gibson's former longtime agent, Ed Limato, died in early July.

According to NY Daily News sources, the only reason why William Morris Endeavor Entertainment represented the foul-mouthed "Braveheart" star was because of his relationship with Limato.
"Mel was really important to Ed," the agency source said. "He was with him for 32 years and I think Ed saw him as a son."
The agency's partner, Ari Emanuel, had previously expressed dislike for Gibson after he made anti-Semitic remarks following a DUI arrest in 2006.
Studio execs said many agencies felt uneasy about taking Gibson on in light of the recent allegations.
"I'd rather get engaged to Lindsay Lohan than have anything to do with him," one studio chief said.
The actor reportedly was caught on tape launching into a racist, profanity-laced tirade aimed at his former flame, Oksana Grigorieva, the latest and ugliest development in the couple's heated legal battle.
"You're an embarrassment to me," Gibson told Grigorieva, according to gossip site RadarOnline.com. "You look like a f---ing pig in heat, and if you get raped by a pack of n---ers, it will be your fault."
Gibson's spokesman could not be reached for comment.

"Night and Day" movie features a real Vietnam War Vet -Captain Dale Dye

After reading all the bad reviews on Mr Top Gun Tom Cruise's and Cameron Diaz's new movie, I was headed to see a different flick, but it was packed, so I opted for  the new action movie. Yea, everyone gave it mixed reviews, but I think that's because they were looking for missing impossible and older movies of Cameron Diaz.

Diaz was just as sexy in this movie as she was in all her movies a decade ago, and I didn't realize how natural, and how much drama she could bring to the stage until I saw in her action, and not just on a motorcycle. She played the big, dumb sexy blond, but she also revealed why like her.                                                                                                  Cameron Diaz

The last time I saw "Cameron Michelle Diaz" in There's Something About Mary, I knew she was going to be a silver screen hottie. By the way Ben Stillera plays "Ted" and Matt Dillon were in that movie in 1998, where a man gets a chance to meet up with his dream girl from high school, even though his date with her then was a complete disaster. Ted was a high school geek, who was going to the prom with one of the most popular girls in the school.
The prom date never happened, because Ted had a very unusual accident. 13 years later he realizes he's still in love with Mary, so he hires a private investigator totrack her down. The investigator discovers he too may be in love with Mary, so he gives Ted some false info to keep Ted away from Cameron Diaz.
I thought the film was great, lots of action, hilarious comedy and some pretty bold stunts in the movie for a Diaz. She was just as sexy as she was 10 years ago, and Cruise appear fit, and just as cocky, but just as fast as he was in mission Impossible.

I went in with an open mind and only seeing a partiable trailer so I was not prepared for the action nor the slapstick humorous drama scenes. What I really loved was the venue. It was filmed on location in Europe, and wow the places that were destroyed and the scenes were awesome.

The biggest surprise later in the movie was Captain Dale Dye Knight and Day (2010) .... Frank Jenkins, who I have met personally and who is the same guy on camera and behind the camera (Band of Brothers). I was hoping for a longer role, because Dye is very natural No Better Place to Die (details only on IMDbPro), Larry Crowne (2011) (post-production), Falling Skies (2010) (TV) (post-production) "Entourage" .... Firearms Instructor / ... (3 episodes, 2005-2010)

It's not a perfect film, but hey I'm not a perfect critic or movie goer. I usually go to watch and be entertained like everyone else. If we looked at every film from a technical perspective, we wouldn't enjoy it. It would be called a theater assignment not a movie, right?

I've always liked Cruise and Diaz movies, and I get tired of seeing the same folks in the same new movies like Sam Worthington, Damaged, Quartermain ,The Last Days of American Crime, Dracula Year Zero, Man on a Ledge,The Candidate (details only on IMDbPro), This Means War (2011) (pre-production, The Fields (2011/II) (post-production), The Debt (2010/I) (completed), Last Night (2010), Clash of the Titans (2010), Avatar (2009) and the Terminator Salvation (2009) and Megan Fox, (Fathom (2011),The Crossing  (in production),Passion Play (2010) (post-production), Jonah Hex (2010),Lilah, Jennifer's Body (2009),Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009).

Don't get me wrong I love both of these actors in feature and action movies, they just happen to be blockbuster, or is it just me. Maybe it's the studios like Warner Bros or Directors of blockbuster movies that get them young, early and inexpensive before their careers take off and make big bucks.

Okay, you're right Cruise and Diaz also were in many big movies, too, so let's just enjoy them for what they are, entertainment and stop being so critical at the movies. It's not an easy job acting, directing and producing. Everything can go wrong and does go wrong. More later.
