***

Los Angeles
—The Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC) today announced Do Won Chang, the founder of Forever 21, one of the world’s fastest growing fashion brands, as its individual Eddy® Awards honoree. Inaugurated in 1996, the annual Eddy Awards gala has become the most important economic development award program in the state of California. This year’s 15th anniversary event will be held on Wednesday, November 10th, at the Beverly Hilton.
Headquartered in the City of Los Angeles, Forever 21 began in 1984 and has since become synonymous with trendy, affordable fashions. Do Won Chang and his wife Jin Sook Chang emigrated from South Korea in 1981 in search of the American Dream, and began their fashion empire with their first store in Highland Park. Since then, Forever 21 has grown to 457 stores in 15 countries with sales of nearly $3.0 billion annually.
In Los Angeles County, Forever 21 operates dozens of stores throughout the region’s malls and shopping centers, employing more than 3,000 people and thousands more through their supply network.    Taking advantage of the wealth of talent in Los Angeles County’s nation-leading creative industry, Forever 21’s apparel and merchandise is designed in L.A. County, with a large percentage of their products also being manufactured here.  Their vertically integrated model allows them to design, manufacture and distribute merchandise faster than their competitors, an important factor of Forever 21’s success.  For the full story and more about the Eddy Awards visit: http://bit.ly/cpuTS6

Michael Douglas is in his game on "Wall Street" film which opens this weekend

Oliver Stone's new film Wall Street 2, is another hit. Great writing, too by Allan Loeb  and Stephen Schiff. Hang on for a white collar corporate roller
coast ride. It's Fatal Attraction to money this time.

The movie trailer features money drama, Shia LaBeouf and much more. 20th Century Fox released their new drama flick “Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps” into theaters earlier today, and the movie trailer (below) features a lot of money drama with Shia LaBeouf and Michael Douglas as the main characters. The movie stars: Michael Douglas, Shia LaBeouf , Josh Brolin, Frank Langella, Carey Mulligan, Susan Sarandon, Vanessa Ferlito, and yes even Charlie Sheen.

Michael Douglas is definitely in his game as he was in the first Wall Street (1987).

“Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” revolves around character  Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas) who gets out of prison, and has to essentially redefine himself and his character. He’s looking for a second chance.

Shia LaBeouf will play the character Jake Moore who is the fiance of Gordon’s daughter. Charlie Sheen who played the central role of Bud Fox who was a young trader in the original movie, will be making a cameo appearance in the new sequel. “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” movie is in theaters now.
Two things you'll notice in the movie: When Douglas gets out of prison he gets his watch and "Mobile Phone" back, what dinosaur, too. And Douglas smokes cigars in the movie, which is the worse thing on your thoat if you fighting throat cancer." As an ex-smoker, I remember how awful cigars were after smoking a cigarette.
Now, I can't stand either one. I stopped in Dec. 1989.

USHER makes appearance -ASCAP, Jermaine Dupri & Ocean 7 MTV VMA kickoff party sponsored by Belvedere Vodka rocks a Beverly Hills manson

The media wait continues for celebs who are always late.

Kickoff party sponsored by Belvedere Vodka
ASCAP, Jermaine Dupri and Ocean 7 MTV VMA

A cold dark one mile+ walk down from the mansion
Sponsored by Belvedere Vodka for the night,  about 500 people attending the mansion on the hill of Beverly Hills, the road so narrow the LAPD closed the entrance and made attending celebs walked down the dark, dangerous, winding road to safety where shuttles, which were 90 minutes late picking people up at the start of the bash.

The ASCAP, Jeramine Dupri, Ocean's 7 - minus MONICA (No show) MTV VMA event include musicians Usher, who did NOT walk the red carpet, Jesse McCartney, Anthony Hamilton, Miss Issa, TIONNE,  Flo Rida, Nelly, New Boyz in their sports attire, Johnny Gill,  Actors Kweisi Gharreau, Tristan Wilde, Evan Ross, Quinton Aaron, Shantie O'Neal,  Model Brie among other top models.
This was the first time I have attended a red carpet event with no spot lights on the the stars. The person in charge told me "Were relying on media TV lights to provide red carpet lighting." That's fine, however there were very little TV media and the few that had TV cameras turned their lights off, which explains why some of the celebs such as Usher walk past the dark red carpet area onto the sidewalk and into the house. He was lucky we go any pictures at all. Jermain Dupris, one of the party sponsors also escaped in the vast crowd, and if he hadn't taken a phone call in the kitchen, where I spotted him, I not sure we would have his photo either.

Singer Miss Issa Bayaua, George Mc Quade III

The food was good, the music was awesome, and so loud you could have danced on the dark road a mile down the hill. The VMA event honor ASCAP's 2010 VMA nominees was fun once you got to the mansion. Leaving the media in the parking for more than an hour (some left) and treating us like gardeners or house servants doesn't make the greatest impression. Even some of the celebs attending said as they waited and left the party, "No more mansion parties." By the way the group Ocean's 7 includes Usher, Nelly Trey Songz (who was also a no show), Brian Michael Cox, John Austin & Tyron Davis.
I was invited to another party, but since I caught a terrible cold walking down the dark road leading up to the mansion, I opted to pass. But you can check it out. Thx IMP.
