“2012 Best Rock Artist” nominee Kristen Faulconer plans to run in 5K Walk/Run to benefit as part of Abuse Prevention Awareness Month

“Best Rock Artist” and “Best Pop Song”  Nominee
 Kristen Faulconer plans to participate in the
10th Annual Victory of Victims Run/Walk Sunday, 
April 15th, at Lake Balboa Park (6330 Woodley 
Avenue Lake Balboa, CA 91406) Los Angeles, CA. 
 
“I am an abuse survivor and my music is about 
empowering and uplifting people,” said Faulconer.  
“I wrote many of my songs about the abuse I 
endured and my struggles with being adopted.
 
The 5K Walk/Run and 10K River Run event benefits The Center for 
Assault Treatment Services (CATS) at Northridge Hospital Medical 
Center is the only 24/7 program for victims of sexual assault and 
abuse in the San 
Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys. Faulconer has started a 
movement and anti-abuse group on Facebook, too. It’s called, 
“Revolution Against Abuse”

“My music is really an expression of the abusive experiences I have
had over the years,” said Faulconer. I support any benefit programs 
that aim to prevent child abuse and neglect before it starts.”
 
Faulconer has been nominated for Reverbnation's 2012 Indie 
Music Channel Awards for "Best Rock Artist" and "Best Pop Song."

The event is set for Sunday, April 29th at the
House of Blues, Hollywood.


Kristen Faulconer also has a new band. They are: Cy Passley on 
lead guitar, Mike Talanca on bass, and Blake Padveen on drums. 
Faulconer is working on a new album release this fall entitled, 
“Phoenix”, and some of the songs are posted on iTunes. 
Faulconer has already been nominated for another awards 
show in November. Sponsors for Faulconer’s charity event

Production, and David Dance Italy.
 
The winners are selected by a panel of judges and fans can
 not vote, it is based solely on the quality of the music and the 
performance of the artist.

FORM A RACE DAY TEAM:Team Captains must register online first by selecting the Team Captain category and entering team name.
Team Members can then register by selecting the Team Member category and selecting the appropriate team name from the drop down box on the form.
Online Fundraising to support CATS
When you register online, a fundraising page will automatically be created for you. You will be able to customize your page (add a picture, set a goal, etc). Team Fund-raising pages will be created when the Team Captain registers. Email the link to your fundraising page to your friends & family and raise pledges online! Money will automatically be sent to the organization, and your donors will receive a confirmation with their tax id information.
Course:
The 5K starts on Woodley Avenue and travels past the Woodley Lakes Golf Course and into Lake Balboa Park, then goes around Lake Balboa and returns to finish in beautiful Woodley Park to the sound of live music and cheering crowds!
The 10K starts on Woodley Avenue with runners going past the Basin Wildlife area, along the LA River Tributary and past Woodley Lakes Golf Course and around Lake Balboa Park to finish in beautiful Woodley Park to the sound of live music and cheering crowds!
Both races are fast and flat!

Enter the paved parking lot in Woodley Park on the east side of Woodley Ave south of Victory Blvd. There will be signs and a white tent set up in the parking lot with volunteers to assist you with registration and picking up your bib, T-shirt and timing chip.
You can also register for the event at this time and pick up your packet.
2. Sunday 4/15 beginning at 6:30am
On race morning, you can pick up your packet starting at 6:30am at the event site.

Also, the LA Laker Girls are invited back once gain this year to lead the aerobic warm-up exercises!
